Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup butter softened
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar packed
  • 2 eggs at room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 1/2 cups mashed ripe bananas about 5 large bananas
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  • Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease your loaf pan lightly with butter or cooking spray to prevent sticking.
  • Step 2: In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside while you prepare the wet ingredients.
  • Step 3: In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened butter and brown sugar together until light and fluffy using a whisk or an electric mixer. This should take about 2-3 minutes.
  • Step 4: Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract until fully incorporated.
  • Step 5: Fold in the mashed ripe bananas until they are evenly distributed throughout the mixture.
  • Step 6: Gradually add the dry ingredient mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring gently until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; a few lumps are perfectly fine.
  • Step 7: Gently fold in the chocolate chips, making sure they are evenly dispersed throughout the batter.
  • Step 8: Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan, smoothing the top with a spatula.
  • Step 9: Bake in the preheated oven for 55-65 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean or with a few moist crumbs.
