Ingredients

Ingredients

  • 1.5 pounds Beef Ravioli Fresh or frozen
  • 1 cup Buttermilk
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 2 cups Italian Bread Crumbs
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Black Pepper
  • Vegetable Oil For frying
  • Parmesan Cheese Freshly grated, for garnish
  • Marinara Sauce For dipping

Instructions

  • Start by bringing a large pot of salted water to a boil over medium-high heat. Cook the ravioli according to the package instructions, generally around 4-5 minutes until they float to the surface. Drain and place on a paper towel-lined baking sheet.
  • Set up your breading station with three bowls: one with buttermilk, one with whisked eggs, and one with a mixture of Italian bread crumbs, salt, and black pepper.
  • Dip each ravioli into the buttermilk, then the egg mixture, and finally coat with the bread crumb mixture. Place them back on the baking sheet.
  • In a large skillet, heat about ½ inch of vegetable oil over medium heat. Fry the breaded ravioli in batches for about 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy. Drain on paper towels.
  • Sprinkle freshly grated Parmesan cheese on top while still hot and serve immediately with marinara sauce for dipping.

Equipment

  • Large Pot
  • Skillet
  • Mixing Bowls
  • Baking Sheet

Notes

For extra flavor, add Italian seasoning to the breadcrumb mixture. You can also bake the ravioli at 400°F (200°C) for a lighter version.
