Ingredients

  • 6 ounces cream cheese Choose a block for easier mixing.
  • 2 ounces mascarpone cheese Adds a touch of sweetness and creaminess.
  • 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese Freshly grated provides the best flavor.
  • 3/4 cup sliced toasted almonds Look for lightly salted for a balanced taste.
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper Freshly ground if possible for maximum flavor.
  • 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg A hint of warmth that complements the cheeses.
  • pinch salt To enhance the flavors.

Instructions

  • Begin by toasting your sliced almonds. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Spread the almonds on a baking sheet in a single layer and toast them for about 8-10 minutes, or until they are golden brown and fragrant. Keep an eye on them to avoid burning!
  • In a medium mixing bowl, combine the cream cheese and mascarpone cheese. Using a hand mixer or whisk, beat them together until smooth and creamy.
  • Gradually mix in the freshly grated Parmesan cheese, black pepper, nutmeg, and a pinch of salt. Continue to mix until all the ingredients are well combined.
  • Gently fold in the toasted almonds, reserving a small handful for topping. This will add that lovely crunch to your dip.
  • Transfer the dip to your serving bowl and sprinkle the reserved toasted almonds on top. For the best flavor, cover the dip and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving. This allows the flavors to meld beautifully.
