Ingredients

For the Chicken Wings:

  • 2 pounds chicken wings rinsed and pat dry
  • 1 teaspoon salt (or to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon pepper (or to taste)
  • 3 green onions chopped (optional)
  • ½ cup water
  • 1 tablespoon molasses
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 6 cloves garlic finely minced
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar packed
  • ½ teaspoon salt (or to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon pepper (or to taste)

Instructions

Instructions:

  • Step 1: Prepare the Chicken Wings: Start by preheating your oven to 400°F (200°C). In a large mixing bowl, combine the chicken wings with salt and pepper. Toss them well to ensure they are evenly coated.
  • Step 2: Arrange Wings on Baking Sheet: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup. Arrange the seasoned chicken wings in a single layer on the sheet, making sure they are not overcrowded.
  • Step 3: Bake the Wings: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 40-45 minutes, flipping the wings halfway through until golden brown and crispy.
  • Step 4: Make the Honey Garlic Sauce: While the wings are baking, prepare the sauce. In a medium saucepan, combine the water, molasses, honey, minced garlic, onion powder, brown sugar, and salt. Heat over medium heat until smooth and bubbling, then simmer for 5-7 minutes until slightly thickened.
  • Step 5: Coat the Wings: Once baked, remove the wings from the oven, transfer them to a large mixing bowl, and pour the honey garlic sauce over them. Toss until well coated.
  • Step 6: Serve and Garnish: Return the wings to the baking sheet and bake for an additional 5-10 minutes to caramelize the sauce. Garnish with chopped green onions if desired, and serve hot!
