Ingredients

  • 1 cup taco meat cooked and seasoned
  • 1 cup shredded Mexican cheese
  • 24 pieces wonton wrappers
  • Dipping sauces salsa, guacamole, or sour cream

Instructions

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the taco meat with the shredded Mexican cheese. Stir well until the mixture is evenly combined.
  • Take a wonton wrapper and place it on a clean surface. Spoon about a tablespoon of the taco filling into the center of the wrapper.
  • Using a pastry brush, lightly coat the edges of the wrapper with water. Fold the wrapper in half diagonally to create a triangle. Press the edges firmly to seal it.
  • In a deep fryer or large skillet, heat oil to 350°F (175°C). You’ll need enough oil to submerge the wontons, so make sure to use a deep enough pan.
  • Carefully add the wontons to the hot oil, a few at a time, being cautious not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown and crispy.
  • Once fried, use a slotted spoon to remove the wontons and transfer them to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauces, and enjoy!
