Ingredients

Ingredients for Sushi Rice:

  • ½ cup Calrose Rice rinsed
  • ½ cup Sushi Rice rinsed
  • 450 ml Water
  • 1 piece Kombu for flavor

Seasoning:

  • 2 tablespoons Rice Vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon Sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon Salt heaping

Instructions:

  • Step 1: Rinse the rice under cold running water until the water runs clear.
  • Step 2: Soak the rice in water for about 30 minutes.
  • Step 3: In a medium saucepan, combine soaked rice, water, and kombu.
  • Step 4: Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low and cover, simmering for about 20 minutes.
  • Step 5: Remove from heat and let sit covered for 10 minutes.
  • Step 6: Combine rice vinegar, sugar, and salt in a bowl. Microwave until sugar dissolves.
  • Step 7: Fluff the rice with a wooden spoon and fold in the vinegar mixture. Allow to cool.
