Ingredients

  • 1 stick softened salted butter
  • 3/4 cup light brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 1/4 cups plain all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a mixing bowl, cream together softened butter, light brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
  • Add the egg and vanilla extract, beating until well combined.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, salt, and baking soda.
  • Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
  • Fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips.
  • Portion out the dough onto a prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each cookie.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are golden and centers remain soft.
  • Allow to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
