  • 1 cup dry quinoa Rinsed before cooking
  • ½ cup sliced strawberries Fresh and in-season for best flavor
  • ½ cup sliced almonds Can be toasted for extra flavor
  • 2 teaspoons honey Adjust sweetness to taste

Instructions

  • Step 1: Rinse the quinoa under cold water for 1-2 minutes to remove saponins.
  • Step 2: In a medium saucepan, combine rinsed quinoa with 2 cups of water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 15 minutes.
  • Step 3: After 15 minutes, remove from heat and let sit covered for 5 minutes. Fluff with a fork.
  • Step 4: Slice strawberries and almonds. Optionally, toast almonds in a dry pan for 3-5 minutes.
  • Step 5: In a large bowl, combine cooked quinoa, sliced strawberries, toasted almonds, and honey. Mix gently.
  • Step 6: Serve immediately, warm or chilled. Garnish with additional strawberries or almonds if desired.
