Instructions
Step 1: In a large bowl, combine the ground chuck, seasoned dry bread crumbs, milk, nutmeg, kosher salt, and black pepper. Mix until just combined.
Step 2: Scoop out portions of the mixture and roll them into meatballs about 1 inch in diameter. Place on a baking sheet.
Step 3: (Optional) Brown the meatballs in a skillet over medium heat until golden brown on all sides.
Step 4: In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the flour to form a roux. Slowly whisk in the condensed beef consommé and bring to a simmer. Remove from heat and stir in the heavy cream and bay leaf.
Step 5: Place the meatballs in the slow cooker and pour the creamy sauce over them. Cook on low for 6 to 8 hours or on high for 3 to 4 hours.
Step 6: Once cooked, stir gently, remove the bay leaf, and serve with your favorite sides.
