Ingredients

Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 4 pounds boneless, skinless chicken thighs
  • 1 cup honey barbecue sauce
  • 1 cup orange marmalade
  • 1 cup orange juice
  • 1 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon minced fresh ginger
  • 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 2 tablespoons toasted sesame seeds

Instructions

Instructions

  • Begin by cutting the boneless, skinless chicken thighs into bite-sized pieces. This will allow for even cooking and easy serving.
  • In a large mixing bowl, add the all-purpose flour. Toss the chicken pieces in the flour until they are well-coated. This step will help create a crispy exterior once cooked.
  • Heat a skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add a splash of oil and then add the coated chicken pieces. Sear the chicken for about 5-7 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.
  • While the chicken is cooking, in a separate bowl, combine the honey barbecue sauce, orange marmalade, orange juice, low-sodium soy sauce, minced ginger, and crushed red pepper flakes. Whisk the ingredients together until smooth.
  • Once the chicken is fully cooked, reduce the heat to medium-low and pour the sauce over the chicken in the skillet. Stir well to coat all the pieces in the luscious sauce. Allow to simmer for about 5-10 minutes.
  • Just before serving, sprinkle the toasted sesame seeds over the chicken for added crunch and flavor.
  • Serve your Sesame Orange Chicken over a bed of rice or alongside steamed vegetables for a complete meal. Enjoy!
