Ingredients

  • 16 ounces frozen broccoli florets No need to thaw
  • 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil Adds richness and helps achieve golden-brown color
  • 2 teaspoons sugar Optional, enhances caramelization
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt Essential for flavoring
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper Adds a nice kick
  • 1 pinch red pepper flakes Optional, for heat
  • 1 small lemon halved, for drizzling fresh juice

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  • In a mixing bowl, combine frozen broccoli florets with extra virgin olive oil, sugar (if using), kosher salt, ground black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Toss until evenly coated.
  • Spread the seasoned broccoli in a single layer on a baking sheet.
  • Place the baking sheet in the oven and roast for about 20-25 minutes, flipping the florets halfway through.
  • Check for doneness; the broccoli should be tender with crispy, caramelized edges.
  • Remove from the oven and squeeze fresh lemon juice over the top before serving.

Notes
