Instructions
Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and flour a standard 9×5-inch loaf pan.
Step 2: In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
Step 3: Add the lightly beaten eggs and vanilla extract to the mixture and mix until smooth.
Step 4: Incorporate the red food coloring, mixing until well blended.
Step 5: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
Step 6: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with the milk, mixing until just combined.
Step 7: Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake for 55-65 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
Step 8: Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
