Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 7 oz pumpkin-shaped marshmallows two 3.5 oz packages of Peeps
  • 1 teaspoon pumpkin spice
  • 5 cups Rice Krispies cereal
  • 1 cup semi-sweet mini chocolate chips

Instructions

  • In a large saucepan over medium-low heat, melt the 1 cup of unsalted butter. Keep stirring until it’s completely melted and bubbly, but be careful not to let it brown.
  • Once your butter is melted, add in the 7 oz of pumpkin-shaped marshmallows and stir constantly until they are fully melted and combined with the butter. This should take about 2-3 minutes.
  • Stir in the 1 teaspoon of pumpkin spice until it’s evenly distributed throughout the melted marshmallow mixture. The aroma will be heavenly!
  • Remove the saucepan from heat and immediately add in the 5 cups of Rice Krispies cereal. Gently fold the cereal into the marshmallow mixture until all the cereal is coated.
  • Once the Rice Krispies are well mixed in, fold in the 1 cup of semi-sweet mini chocolate chips. The chips will melt slightly, adding a delicious texture to your treats.
  • Transfer the mixture to a greased 9x13 inch baking pan. Use your spatula to press it down evenly, making sure it’s packed tightly for the best texture.
  • Allow the treats to cool at room temperature for about 30 minutes. Once set, cut them into squares or fun shapes using a cookie cutter.

Equipment

  • Large Saucepan
  • Spatula
  • Baking Pan
  • Measuring cups and spoons

Notes

  • Stir continuously when melting the marshmallows to avoid burning.
  • Use a light touch when mixing the Rice Krispies to prevent a dense texture.
  • Drizzle melted chocolate over the top for a decorative touch.
