  • 1/2 cup lemon juice from half a lemon
  • 1/4 cup fresh dill chopped
  • 2 tablespoons capers

  • Step 1: Prepare the Salmon - Season the salmon filets generously with salt and pepper on both sides.
  • Step 2: Heat the Skillet - In a large non-stick skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of avocado oil over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  • Step 3: Sear the Salmon - Place the salmon filets skin-side down in the skillet, cooking for 4-5 minutes until crispy, then flip and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes.
  • Step 4: Make the Sauce - In the same skillet, add the remaining avocado oil, sauté shallots for 2-3 minutes, then add minced garlic for 1 minute.
  • Step 5: Add Liquid Ingredients - Pour in vegetable broth and milk, whisking and simmering for 3-4 minutes.
  • Step 6: Incorporate Cream Cheese - Add Neufchatel, whisk until melted, then stir in lemon juice, dill, and capers, simmer for another minute.
  • Step 7: Combine and Serve - Return salmon to skillet, spoon sauce over, warm together for a minute before serving.
