Ingredients

For the Brownies:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup salted butter (1 ½ sticks)
  • 6 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup granulated white sugar
  • 3 large eggs (beaten)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 1.55-ounce milk chocolate bars (chopped into 1/4-inch pieces)

Instructions

Directions:

  • Step 1: Preheat Your Oven
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). This ensures the brownies bake evenly.
  • Step 2: Prepare Your Baking Pan
Grease the 9x9 inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal later.
  • Step 3: Melt the Butter
In a medium saucepan over low heat, melt the 3/4 cup of salted butter. Once melted, remove it from the heat and let it cool slightly.
  • Step 4: Mix in Cocoa and Sugar
Whisk in the 6 tablespoons of unsweetened cocoa powder and 1 cup of granulated sugar into the melted butter until fully combined.
  • Step 5: Add Eggs and Vanilla
Allow the mixture to cool for a few minutes, then add the 3 beaten eggs and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract. Whisk until the mixture is smooth and glossy.
  • Step 6: Combine Dry Ingredients
In a separate bowl, whisk together the 1 cup of all-purpose flour, 1/2 teaspoon of baking powder, and 1/4 teaspoon of salt.
  • Step 7: Mix Dry and Wet Ingredients
Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture using a spatula until just combined. Be careful not to overmix!
  • Step 8: Add Chocolate Chunks
Gently fold in the chopped milk chocolate bars, ensuring they are evenly distributed throughout the batter.
  • Step 9: Pour into Pan
Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan, using the spatula to spread it evenly.
  • Step 10: Bake
Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs (not wet batter).
  • Step 11: Cool and Serve
Allow the brownies to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely before cutting into squares. Enjoy your Ooey Gooey Brownies!
