Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground turkey lean
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup onion finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley chopped
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup pure
  • 1 tablespoon chipotle in adobo sauce finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 egg beaten

Instructions

  • Start by preheating your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a loaf pan or line a baking sheet with parchment paper if you prefer a free-form loaf.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground turkey, breadcrumbs, finely chopped onion, minced garlic, and fresh parsley. Add the maple syrup, finely chopped chipotle in adobo, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and the beaten egg. Gently mix everything until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
  • Transfer the mixture to your prepared pan or baking sheet. Shape it into a loaf about 8 inches long and 4 inches wide, smoothing the top with the back of a spoon or your hands.
  • Place the meatloaf in the preheated oven and bake for 40-50 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C). Optionally, tent the top loosely with aluminum foil halfway through baking to keep the meatloaf moist.
  • Once baked, remove the meatloaf from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing. Serve warm alongside your favorite sides or a fresh salad.

Equipment

  • Mixing Bowl
  • Loaf pan or baking sheet
  • Sharp Knife
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Spatula or wooden spoon
  • Aluminum Foil

Notes

  • For gluten-free meatloaf, substitute regular breadcrumbs with gluten-free breadcrumbs or crushed gluten-free crackers.
  • Brush additional maple syrup on top during the last 10 minutes of baking for an extra flavorful glaze.
  • Store leftover meatloaf in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days or freeze slices to prevent freezer burn.
