Ingredients

For the Waffles:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour sifted
  • 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 eggs, separated
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 2 cups milk whole or 2%
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

Steps:

  • Step 1: Preheat Your Waffle Iron. Start by preheating your waffle iron according to the manufacturer's instructions.
  • Step 2: Combine Dry Ingredients. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, ground cinnamon, and salt.
  • Step 3: Prepare the Wet Ingredients. In another bowl, separate the egg yolks from the whites. Add the melted butter, milk, and vanilla extract to the bowl with the egg yolks.
  • Step 4: Mix Together. Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and gently stir until just combined.
  • Step 5: Beat the Egg Whites. In a clean bowl, beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form.
  • Step 6: Fold in the Egg Whites. Carefully fold the beaten egg whites into the batter.
  • Step 7: Cook the Waffles. Lightly grease your preheated waffle iron and pour the appropriate amount of batter onto the iron, cooking until golden brown.
