Ingredients

Ingredients

  • 1 sheet frozen puff pastry thawed
  • 4 oz cream cheese softened
  • ¼ cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 lemon zest
  • 1 cup lemon curd
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tbsp water

Instructions

  • Step 1: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Roll out the thawed puff pastry on a lightly floured surface to a rectangle measuring about 12×9 inches. Slice the pastry into four equal rectangles.
  • Step 2: In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and lemon zest. Blend until smooth and creamy.
  • Step 3: On each rectangle of puff pastry, create a border by making a small cut about 1 inch from the edges. Spread a spoonful of the cream cheese mixture in the center of each rectangle and top with lemon curd.
  • Step 4: Whisk the egg with water and brush the mixture over the outer edges of the danish. Bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  • Step 5: Remove from the oven and let cool on a wire rack for a few minutes. Serve warm or at room temperature.
