Ingredients

  • 1 pound pizza dough
  • 2/3 cup marinara sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Italian or pizza seasoning
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella
  • 1 cup shredded provolone cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 8 ounces pepperoni, sliced
  • 1/2 cup fresh basil, chopped
  • to taste sea salt
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 2-3 tablespoons hot sauce adjust according to your heat preference
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper for an extra kick
  • 3/4 teaspoon chipotle chili powder adds smokiness and depth
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder a must-have for flavor
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder complements the garlic and overall taste

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). On a lightly floured surface, roll out your pizza dough into a large rectangle, approximately 1/4 inch thick.
  • Spread the marinara sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges. Sprinkle the Italian or pizza seasoning over the sauce.
  • Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella, provolone, and cheddar cheeses evenly over the sauce, followed by the sliced pepperoni and chopped fresh basil.
  • Starting from one end, carefully roll the dough up into a tight log. Pinch the seams to seal it.
  • Slice the rolled dough into 1-inch thick pieces, about 12-14 rolls, and place them cut-side up on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • In a small saucepan over low heat, combine the honey, hot sauce, cayenne pepper, chipotle chili powder, garlic powder, and onion powder. Stir until well mixed.
  • Bake the rolls in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until golden and bubbly. Drizzle the hot honey mixture over the top while they’re still warm.
  • Let the rolls cool for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with additional fresh basil if desired.
