Ingredients

  • 4 bone-in chicken thighs skin-on
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 tablespoon red pepper flakes
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • fresh parsley chopped, for garnish

Instructions

Stepwise Method

  • Pat the chicken thighs dry with paper towels. Season both sides generously with salt and pepper.
  • Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken thighs skin-side down and cook without moving for 6-8 minutes until skin is golden and crispy. Flip and cook for another 5 minutes. Remove chicken and set aside.
  • Lower heat to medium. Add minced garlic to the skillet and sauté until fragrant, about 30 seconds to 1 minute. Stir in honey and red pepper flakes. Let sauce simmer, stirring frequently, until slightly thickened, about 2-3 minutes.
  • Return chicken thighs to skillet, skin-side up. Spoon sauce over each piece. Cover skillet and cook for another 5-7 minutes, or until internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  • Remove chicken from skillet and transfer to serving plate. Drizzle remaining sauce over top and sprinkle with fresh chopped parsley. Serve immediately.

Equipment

  • Large skillet or frying pan
  • Wooden Spoon or Spatula
  • Measuring spoons and cups
  • Knife and cutting board
  • Tongs

Notes

  • Patting chicken dry ensures crispy skin every time.
  • Add garlic after removing chicken to avoid burning and bitterness.
  • Allow the sauce to simmer until thickened for the best sticky glaze.
  • Serve with steamed rice, roasted veggies, or a crisp green salad for a complete meal.
  • Leftovers keep well refrigerated for up to 3 days and freeze nicely.
