Ingredients

  • 1 lb Halloumi cheese cut into fries/strips
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons za'atar spice blend
  • 1 cup Mina Moroccan olive oil
  • 1 cup Greek yogurt
  • 1 teaspoon garlic sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons fresh herbs (minced parsley, oregano, and mint)
  • 1 tablespoon harissa sauce
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice

Instructions

  • Begin by cutting the Halloumi cheese into fry-shaped strips, approximately 1/2 inch thick.
  • In a shallow dish, combine the all-purpose flour, salt, and za'atar spice blend. Stir well.
  • In your frying pan, pour in the Mina Moroccan olive oil. Heat it over medium heat until it shimmers.
  • Take each Halloumi strip and coat it thoroughly in the seasoned flour mixture. Shake off any excess flour.
  • Fry the Halloumi strips in batches for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy.
  • Transfer the Halloumi fries to a paper towel-lined plate to absorb any excess oil.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the Greek yogurt, garlic sauce, salt, fresh herbs, harissa sauce, and lemon juice. Stir until smooth.
  • Serve the Halloumi fries warm with the dipping sauce on the side. Enjoy!

Notes

  • Experiment with different spice blends for a unique twist on flavor.
