Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon dried oregano
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 3/4 cup warm water
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Fresh basil leaves for garnish

Instructions

Prepare the Dough

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, salt, baking powder, dried oregano, and garlic powder. Stir these dry ingredients together until evenly mixed. Next, add the olive oil and warm water to the bowl. Using a spoon or your hands, mix until a soft dough forms. If the dough feels too sticky, sprinkle in a little more flour until it’s manageable but still soft.

Roll Out the Dough

  • Lightly flour your work surface and roll the dough out into a thin rectangle or circle, about 1/8-inch thick. The thinner the dough, the crispier your chips will be, so aim for a delicate, even layer.

Add the Cheese

  • Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan evenly over the rolled-out dough. Gently press the cheese into the dough so it sticks but doesn’t tear the surface.

Cut Into Chips

  • Using a sharp knife or pizza cutter, slice the dough into small squares or triangles—whatever shape you prefer for your chips. This step makes for easy, bite-sized pieces perfect for dipping or snacking.

Bake to Perfection

  • Transfer the cut pieces onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, spacing them slightly apart. Bake in a preheated oven at 400°F (200°C) for 12-15 minutes or until the edges turn golden brown and the cheese is bubbly and crisp. Keep an eye on them toward the end to avoid burning.

Garnish and Serve

  • Once baked, remove the flatbread pizza chips from the oven and allow them to cool slightly. Garnish with fresh basil leaves for a pop of color and a fresh herbaceous note. Serve these chips warm or at room temperature with your favorite dips or alongside a fresh salad.
