Ingredients

For the Smashed Potatoes:

  • 1 lb petite potatoes
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter melted
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Instructions

Cooking Instructions:

  • Begin by washing the petite potatoes under cold water to remove any dirt. Place them in a large pot and cover them with water. Add a pinch of salt to the water to flavor the potatoes as they cook.
  • Bring the pot to a boil over medium-high heat. Once boiling, reduce the heat to a simmer and cook the potatoes for about 15-20 minutes, or until they are fork-tender.
  • While the potatoes are boiling, preheat your oven to 450°F (232°C).
  • Once the potatoes are cooked, drain them in a colander and let them sit for a few minutes to steam off any excess moisture. Transfer the potatoes to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Using a potato masher or fork, gently smash each potato until they are flattened but still intact.
  • In a mixing bowl, melt the unsalted butter and add the minced garlic, salt, black pepper, paprika, and Italian seasoning. Stir well to combine.
  • Drizzle or brush the garlic butter mixture generously over each smashed potato.
  • Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for about 20-25 minutes, or until the potatoes are golden and crispy around the edges.
  • Once they are out of the oven, let the Easy Smashed Potatoes cool for a couple of minutes. Serve them hot as a side dish or snack!
