  • 1 large egg
  • 1 large egg yolk
  • 2 tablespoons buttermilk can substitute whole milk
  • 1.5 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  • Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Step 2: In a skillet over medium heat, melt the 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter. Add the chopped pecans and toast for about 5-7 minutes until golden and fragrant. Remove from heat and let cool.
  • Step 3: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the bread flour, kosher salt, and baking soda.
  • Step 4: In a separate bowl, combine the melted unsalted butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, egg, egg yolk, buttermilk, and vanilla extract. Whisk until smooth and creamy.
  • Step 5: Gradually add the dry mixture into the wet mixture, stirring gently until just combined.
  • Step 6: Fold in the chocolate chips and toasted pecans until evenly distributed.
  • Step 7: Drop rounded portions of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, leaving space between each cookie. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are golden and centers are soft.
  • Step 8: Let cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
