Ingredients

For the Sliders:

  • 2 lbs lean ground beef (90/10 or 93/7 fat content)
  • 1/2 Tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 large yellow onion (finely diced)
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 8 slices medium cheddar cheese
  • 6 oz medium cheddar (shredded)
  • 24 dinner rolls
  • 2 Tbsp unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1 Tbsp sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions

Instructions

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the lean ground beef, olive oil, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and finely diced yellow onion. Mix everything together gently with your hands until just combined.
  • Divide the beef mixture into 24 equal portions and shape each portion into a small patty, about the size of a dinner roll.
  • Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Place the patties in the skillet, cooking for about 3-4 minutes on each side. Add a slice of cheese on top of each patty during the last minute.
  • While the patties are cooking, preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Slice the dinner rolls in half horizontally and place the bottom half on a greased baking sheet.
  • Spread a thin layer of mayonnaise on the bottom half of the rolls. Layer the cooked patties with melted cheese on top, followed by a sprinkle of shredded cheddar cheese.
  • Brush the tops of the slider buns with a mixture of melted butter and sesame seeds.
  • Bake the assembled sliders in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown and the cheese is bubbly.
  • Remove the sliders from the oven, let them cool for a couple of minutes, then slice them apart and serve warm.
