Ingredients

Meatball Ingredients

  • 1 lb 93% lean ground beef
  • 1 small onion, finely diced or grated
  • 1 large egg
  • cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • ¼ cup quick oats
  • 2 Tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 Tbsp olive oil

Cheese Filling

  • ½ lb Havarti cheese, cut into ½” cubes

Sauce

  • 24 oz pasta sauce

Instructions

  • Step 1: In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, grated onion, egg, grated Parmesan, quick oats, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, paprika, and salt. Mix until well combined.
  • Step 2: Take a small amount of the meat mixture, flatten it, place a cube of Havarti cheese in the center, and shape it into a ball. Repeat until all meat mixture is used.
  • Step 3: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add meatballs in a single layer and cook for 5-7 minutes until browned.
  • Step 4: Pour pasta sauce over the meatballs, cover, and let simmer on low heat for 15-20 minutes.
  • Step 5: Serve the meatballs with sauce in bowls, optionally with crusty bread or a side salad.

Notes
