Ingredients

Olives

  • 40 pieces pimento-stuffed green olives normal size, not jumbo

Dough Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese use sharp for maximum flavor
  • 7 tablespoons unsalted butter cut into small pieces
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

Instructions

  • Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Step 2: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Step 3: In a medium bowl, mix together the all-purpose flour, paprika, and cayenne pepper.
  • Step 4: Add the shredded sharp cheddar cheese and the small pieces of unsalted butter to the dry ingredients. Mix until it resembles coarse crumbs.
  • Step 5: In a small bowl, whisk together the egg, water, and Worcestershire sauce. Pour this mixture into the cheese and flour mixture, stirring until it forms a dough.
  • Step 6: Grab a tablespoon of dough and flatten it into a disk. Wrap the dough around one olive.
  • Step 7: Arrange the wrapped olives on the prepared baking sheet, spaced apart.
  • Step 8: Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Step 9: Allow to cool slightly before transferring to a serving platter.
