1/2cupwalnutschopped, optional

Instructions
Peel and dice the apples into small, bite-sized pieces. Toss them in a bowl with the brown sugar, melted butter, and ground cinnamon until every piece is coated.
Open the can of cinnamon rolls and separate each roll. Place them in your greased 9-inch cake pan, pressing them together slightly but leaving a little space for the apples to seep through.
Evenly distribute the apple and brown sugar mixture over the cinnamon rolls. Sprinkle chopped walnuts on top if using.
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake the cake for 25-30 minutes until the rolls are golden brown and apples are tender.
While baking, mix together the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and a splash of milk if needed until smooth and creamy.
Once the cake has cooled slightly, drizzle caramel sauce generously over the top, then spoon or pipe the cream cheese glaze over the caramel.
Slice and serve the cake warm or at room temperature. Enjoy with coffee or tea.

Notes
Use Granny Smith apples for tartness or Fuji/Honeycrisp for a sweeter flavor.
Substitute walnuts with pecans or almonds, or omit nuts for a nut-free version.
Make vegan by using vegan cinnamon rolls, dairy-free butter, plant-based cream cheese, and vegan caramel sauce.
Store leftover cake covered in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or freeze without glaze for up to 2 months.
Add a splash of milk to the glaze if it becomes too thick for easier drizzling.
