Candy Melts

  • 1 bag yellow candy melts
  • 1 bag orange candy melts
  • 1 bag white candy melts

Instructions

  • Step 1: Preheat your oven according to the instructions on the boxed cake mix. Prepare your cake mix as directed, incorporating the water, oil, and eggs. Pour the batter into a greased 9×13 inch baking pan and bake until golden brown, about 25-30 minutes. Allow to cool completely.
  • Step 2: Crumble the cooled cake into fine crumbs in a large mixing bowl, ensuring no large lumps remain.
  • Step 3: Gradually mix in the vanilla frosting until the mixture holds together well without being overly gooey.
  • Step 4: Roll the mixture into 1-inch balls and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Refrigerate for 30 minutes to firm up.
  • Step 5: Melt the candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl, heating in 30-second intervals until smooth. Divide into three bowls and color if desired.
  • Step 6: Dip each chilled cake bite in the yellow candy melts, allowing excess to drip off. Repeat with orange and then white candy melts.
  • Step 7: Refrigerate the coated cake bites for 15 minutes to set. Drizzle any leftover melted candy on top for decoration if desired.
