Ingredients

  • 4 ripe peaches pitted and chopped
  • 1/4 cup honey or agave syrup (for a vegan option)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup water

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare Your Peaches

  • Start by washing your peaches thoroughly. Then, pit and chop them into chunks that your blender can easily handle. Using ripe peaches is key here—they should be fragrant and soft to the touch, which ensures maximum sweetness and flavor in your sorbet.

Step 2: Blend the Ingredients

  • Add the chopped peaches to your blender along with the honey or agave syrup, lemon juice, vanilla extract, and water. Blend on high until the mixture is completely smooth and creamy. Depending on your blender’s power, this could take 1-2 minutes. You want to achieve a silky texture with no peach chunks remaining.

Step 3: Freeze the Sorbet

  • Pour the blended peach mixture into a shallow, freezer-safe container. Cover it with a lid or plastic wrap, and place it in the freezer. The shallow container helps the sorbet freeze evenly and faster.

Step 4: Stir and Freeze Again

  • After about 2 hours, take the sorbet out and give it a good stir with a fork or whisk to break up any ice crystals that might be forming. Return it to the freezer for another 2-3 hours or until it’s firm enough to scoop.

Step 5: Serve and Enjoy

  • When your sorbet is frozen and scoopable, it’s ready to serve! Use an ice cream scoop or spoon to dish it into bowls or cones. For a little extra flair, garnish with fresh peach slices, a sprinkle of mint, or a handful of toasted nuts.

Equipment

  • Blender
  • Freezer-safe container
  • Fork or whisk

Notes

  • Use ripe, fragrant peaches for the best sweetness and flavor in your sorbet.
  • Stir the sorbet during freezing to prevent large ice crystals and keep it smooth.
  • Store leftover sorbet in an airtight container with plastic wrap pressed on the surface to avoid ice crystals.
