Ingredients

  • 4 ounces semi-sweet chocolate
  • 4 ounces butter
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 large egg yolks
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 4 ounces white chocolate
  • 4 ounces semi-sweet chocolate for ganache
  • 2 teaspoons vegetable shortening
  • 2 cups vanilla ice cream for serving

Instructions

  • Step 1: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) for that perfect molten center.
  • Step 2: In a double boiler or microwave-safe bowl, melt the 4 ounces of semi-sweet chocolate and 4 ounces of butter.
  • Step 3: Whisk together the 2 large eggs and 2 large egg yolks in a separate bowl until frothy.
  • Step 4: Slowly pour the egg mixture into the melted chocolate while whisking continuously.
  • Step 5: Gently fold in the 2 tablespoons of flour and 1/4 teaspoon of salt until just combined.
  • Step 6: Grease your ramekins with butter or cooking spray.
  • Step 7: Pour the batter into ramekins, filling them about 2/3 full, and bake for 12-14 minutes.
  • Step 8: Prepare the ganache by melting the 4 ounces of white chocolate and 4 ounces of semi-sweet chocolate with the vegetable shortening.
  • Step 9: Invert the ramekins onto serving plates, drizzle with ganache, and serve with vanilla ice cream.
