Ingredients

For the Coating:

  • 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs for crunch
  • 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese adds richness
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika for flavor
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt to enhance flavors
  • 1 large egg binds the coating
  • 3 tablespoons white whole-wheat flour for coating

For the Chicken:

  • 1/2 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts cut into 1-inch cubes

Instructions:

  • Start by cutting your boneless, skinless chicken breasts into 1-inch cubes.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the panko breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, smoked paprika, Italian seasoning (if using), and salt. Mix well.
  • In another bowl, whisk the large egg until well beaten. In a third bowl, add the white whole-wheat flour.
  • Dredge each chicken cube first in the flour, then in the egg, and finally in the breadcrumb mixture.
  • Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes.
  • Spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray. Place the breaded chicken nuggets in a single layer.
  • Cook the nuggets in the air fryer for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  • Remove the nuggets from the air fryer and let them cool for a minute before serving.
