Ingredients

For the Steak:

  • 4 pieces cubed steak (beef round sirloin) 16 ounces total
  • 3 large eggs with 1 tablespoon water
  • 1.25 teaspoons salt
  • 1 cup seasoned breadcrumbs
  • Olive oil spray

For Serving:

  • White rice optional
  • Lime wedges optional

Instructions

Instructions:

  • Step 1: Prepare the Steak - Pat the cubed steak dry with paper towels for better breading adherence. Use a meat mallet to pound the steak to an even thickness if desired.
  • Step 2: Season the Steak - Sprinkle the salt evenly over both sides of the cubed steak.
  • Step 3: Set Up the Breading Station - In a shallow bowl, whisk together the eggs and water. In another shallow bowl, pour in the seasoned breadcrumbs.
  • Step 4: Bread the Steak - Dip each piece of cubed steak into the egg wash, allowing excess to drip off, then coat with breadcrumbs.
  • Step 5: Prepare the Air Fryer - Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) and spray the basket lightly with olive oil.
  • Step 6: Air Fry the Breaded Steak - Place the breaded steak in the air fryer basket in a single layer and lightly spray the top with olive oil.
  • Step 7: Cook to Perfection - Air fry for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway until the breading is golden brown and the internal temperature reaches at least 145°F (63°C).
  • Step 8: Serve and Enjoy - Let the steak rest before serving over white rice with lime wedges.
